Portland

Portland, considered a green and environmentally friendly city, is the most populous city in the state of Oegon with a population of 582,130. However, the greater Portland metropolian area has over 2 million people which makes it the twenty-third largest in the nation. By having countless universities and colleges in the city's vicinity and immediate adjacent areas, Portland is a mecca for higher learning.

Portland has a thriving downtown area to enjoy fine and diverse cuisines, including vegetarian dishes. The city also has many outdoor activies such as gardens, museums for its cultural crowds.

Portland is considered the city with the second most coffeehouses after Seattle. The city was discovered on September 17, 1843, by EWilliam Overton and incorporated in 1851.

Within Portland are multiple colleges and universities which include: Portland Community College, Portland State University, and Oregon Health & Science University. The city is also the base for the following private universities University of Portland, Reed College, and Lewis & Clark College.
